Museumweek talkshow
Original music, sound design, and full post production for the broadcast talkshow that gave 120,000+ people a way to share Museum Week, without being in the same room.
A live broadcast without a live audience
When lockdown forced Museum Week 2020 online, the Museumvereniging created a broadcast talkshow designed to let people share the experience. Studio ZK was brought in to make it sound like real television: intimate enough for a living room, polished enough for national broadcast.
Talkshow audio from the inside out
We approached the talkshow the same way we'd approach any broadcast format: dialogue clarity first, music and atmosphere in support. The original music had to feel connected to the Museumweek sonic world without being a copy of it. The sound design layered atmosphere and transitions to give the show a sense of physical place, even though it existed entirely online.
Broadcast quality audio, built for an online world
Original music
Theme and incidental music written for the talkshow format, rooted in the Museumweek sonic identity, adapted for a long form viewing experience.
Sound design
Transitions, atmosphere, and textural layers that gave the show a sense of place and movement, making it feel like television even in a browser.
Post production
Full audio post from rough edit to broadcast master, dialogue clarity, spatial mixing, and consistent loudness across platforms.
Sound that made a screen feel like a shared space
120,000+ people experienced Museumweek 2020 through this talkshow. The audio was built to make that feel like a genuine cultural event, not just a stream.
